About the instructor
Ashwin Asokan
With over 33 years of guitar-playing experience and more than a decade of teaching expertise, Ashwin specializes in both Western and Indian styles of music. He has the honor of sharing the stage with legends like Guitar Prasanna, his guru, and performing on concert tours with renowned musicians such as Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani, Mano, Devan, and Thaman.

Pre-requisites

03. FUSION GUITAR: BLENDING STYLES (Duration: 6 months)
Introduction to blending fingerstyle and strumming techniques.
• Exploring melodic phrasing inspired by Western styles and the music of legendary Indian
composers like A.R. Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, and R.D. Burman.
• Basics of improvisation to understand and blend Western and Indian film music styles.
